For it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (Leviticus 11:44)
This was a commandment giving by God to the Israelite’s thousands of years ago, but it still applies to us today.

Apostle Peter quotes it in of His letters, and stresses(over and over again) the importance for us children of God to live a Holy life.

The bible says that we are temples of God(1 Corinthians 6:19), meaning the place where God Himself, dwells. Could you imagine such a Holy and mighty God living in a temple that is being constantly defiled. The thought alone brings me chills.

Unfortunately, we have defiled our bodies so many times in our past, even just with our evil thoughts. We have to remember that this body is not ours: we have been living in it for so long that we even forget that it is God who gave it to us in the first place.

But it is time to change and turn everything around.
We are no longer slaves to our old selves or old desires. We are new creatures born again and purified by he blood of Jesus.
It is time we drop our selfish ways, and start living a life that is pleasing to our Lord.
We do not live for ourselves anymore, but for our Master and Savior Jesus Christ.

I am fully aware that it is easier said than done, but that is only if we rely on our own strength to be Holy.
We can never be Holy by our own strength or schemes.
If that were possible, Jesus would not have come to die on the cross for our sins and He would have never reprimanded the pharisees for their hypocrisy.

We depend on God for our Holiness, therefore we can never boast in ourselves for our Holy lives.

It is time we sit down, pray asking the the Holy Spirit to guide us into living a Holy life that is pleasing to God. Only then can we raise our head and consider ourselves as Holy vessels/temples of God. We were made righteous by your faith and not by your works. Our works are the fruits of Faith.

It will be rough and might even be tough, but remember, we have won the battle over the world and sin. We just now have to have faith and reap the benefits of our victory.

Stay blessed and have a Holy day.
