God has given something(a gift, a talent) to each one of us: it might be something extraordinary or just something simple. It might be inside of us or it might be something we possess physically.
Regardless of what it is, we have to purposefully take care of that gift and make sure it grows and multiplies(see Parable of the Three Talents Matthew 25:14-30).
The reason I am saying this is because one day God will require that gift off us. He will need us to use it for His kingdoms sake.
It might be giving some Words of wisdom or encouragement to our bother or sister in Christ, who is going through some tough times, or it might be just preparing meals for people who are in need.
When giving out our gift though, we should make sure wedo so with a cheerful heart, for “God loves a cheerful giver”(2 Corinthians 9:7).
We should never allow the devil to trick us into NOT giving because we might not have enough to give.
God is fully aware of the condition we find ourselves. He knows how much we have and how much we don’t. But regardless of that, He still wants us to give with a cheerful heart.
That “small thing” that we might think is too small to make an impact in someones life, can do miracles through Gods power. See the story about the little boy with 5 loafs of bread and 2 fish in “Luke 9”, Jesus was able to feed thousands of people with so little.
That is the same way God uses our gifts.
We might be struggling in that moment or in serious need. But as far as we keep in mind that we are not our own: we are on this earth for Gods purpose, we should be willing to sacrifice our time, selves, or possessions, for God. (see the Story of the Macedonians in 2 Corinthians 8:1-5).
Jesus Christ is our great example. He gave so much to us to the extent that He sacrificed His own life for us. He did it because He understood His purpose on this earth. He knew that this life is temporary and anything that He loses here for the sake of God will be giving back to Him thousandfold in heaven.
Look at what you have, let God guide you into using it to help someone and bring Glory to His name.
God bless you and I wish you a charitable day.
